Remote work, Italian style

Transcript
For some years now, remote work has forcefully entered the lives of Italians.
Many argue that this is a cultural revolution.

Read it with audio, tap any word, keep the ones you want to remember.
10 minutes a day free · no card needed
Others fear that the boundary between private and professional life has become too thin.
Istat statistics say that over three million people work from home at least a few days a week.
It is a figure unthinkable only ten years ago.
Yet the Italian experience presents particular features.
Many young people have taken advantage of the flexibility to move to countryside villages.
They seek lower rents and a higher quality of life.
Some municipalities in Molise or Calabria even offer financial incentives to those who decide to relocate.
On the other hand, not all employers are convinced of the benefits of this model.
They argue that productivity drops and that team spirit is lacking.
Perhaps the truth lies in the middle and the future will be hybrid.
The fact remains that the concept of an office will never be the same again.
